About

I have been involved in health and fitness for two decades. I started my career as a nurse in 1990. I took a career break in 1999 to raise my two girls, while working on my own health and fitness. I qualified as an ISSA instructor and a Pilates instructor in 2014. I became Redcord certified in 2015 and TPI certified in 2016. I recently completed, in 2019, the Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health coaching certification. I hope to use my knowledge and experience to help others achieve their own health, fitness and lifestyle goals.
I grew up in a town outside of Charleston SC. I attended Winthrop college and then the Medical University of South Carolina where I studied Nursing. I then moved to the United Kingdom where I completed my nursing qualification at the South Tees School of Health and started my nursing career as a pediatric nurse. I have two girls born in 1996 and 1999, and I have had the great privilege of staying at home and being their Mom. During those years, as a family we moved eight times, including two transatlantic moves, finally settling in the Princeton area in 2009. I used my time meeting new people, adjusting my family to new towns, volunteering my time coaching and raising money for various charitable causes. I have always been interested in sports and fitness and in 2006, when I was diagnosed with LUPUS, I became even more aware of the benefits of nutrition.
I decided to move into the fitness realm and away from nursing, as I want to help healthy people stay healthy. In my experience, prevention is better than cure. I have been teaching pilates for nearly five years and throughout this time I have encountered many different people with many different needs, but all have the need for health. It was this that gave me the inspiration to look further for myself and my clients and brought me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Health Coaching. I am excited to continue learning on my own journey and to bring this knowledge to others to assist them on their own journeys.
